My name is Andrew and I was born in May of 1972 in New Brunswick, Canada.
I am the proud father of two amazing girls, who I’ve learned more from than I’ll ever realize.
And I am surrounded by more love than anyone deserves.
But well into my 40s, I knew I was missing something.
Like most, life had its mix of ups and downs. Career, marriage, divorce, friendships, and even fatherhood, had incredible and challenging times. I endured and believe I have come out of each challenge a better version of myself… and hopefully smarter in the end.
All that being said, I was still missing something… a passion beyond work… beyond family and loved ones. Something for me.
In my mid-40s I found it. The outdoors. Nature. The sights and sounds. The sun and moon. Pushing myself to explore things most never experience. Trying new things and learning as I go.
It started with hiking and has expanded to backcountry, both backpacking and canoeing. I’ve shifted from enjoying ‘most’ of the year, to year round, with more and more winter adventure each year.
It’s only been approximately 3 years, but I have loved the journey thus far, and want to share it with others who may want (or need) to do the same.
I hope you get something from this site and if you have suggestions, please reach out to me anytime.
Stay hydrated.
A.
